Sappience is honored to announce that it is an official member of the Digital Twin Consortium – a global partnership between academia, industry, and government to promote and enhance the Digital Twins. The consortium was created by digital leaders such as Lendlease, Microsoft, Ansys, Dell, GE, Northrop Group. Together we will form a global ecosystem to develop Industry 4.0 and make the transition to 4.1.

The consortium was founded only 4 months ago and Sappience is one of its first members. Our team started actively communicating and implementing the Digital Twins concept in the early spring of 2020, and joining the Consortium was a natural next step.
What is the Digital Twin Consortium?
The Digital Twin Consortium brings together experts from various industries specializing in spatial identity and intelligence of objects, real-time data collection and analysis, data modeling, Digital Twins creation and maintenance, and more.
Together, industry pioneers will create the necessary strategic perspective and industrial support for digital modeling and simulation of Digital Twins. This ecosystem of industry experts will:
- Develop the digital technology market using roadmaps and guidelines for the application and use of technology;
- Improve the interoperability of the digital solution by developing best practices for security, confidentiality, and reliability;
- Reduce the risk of high costs and failed projects;
- Demonstrates the value of the Digital Twins through equal use, training, and real-life demonstrations.
The Future of The Digital Twins Ecosystem
Today, we are focused on how we can connect multiple Digital Twins to create a global and sophisticated network. The 2019 IoT implementation survey by Gartner stated that:
- Only 13% of the organizations that have already used Digital Twins
- 62% of organizations are in the process or plan to use Digital Twins within 1 year
- 67% of companies implementing IoT will have at least one digital twin in production by 2022
Sappience’s experience as a pioneer in the development of low-code business applications and combining it with domain knowledge in asset management will contribute to the Consortium with guidelines on how to turn a strategy for the digital transformation of asset-intensive companies into targeted business results through real-time data insights.
As a Microsoft Preferred Power Apps partner, we utilize the Power Platform to connect IoT, Digital Twins, and AI in a portfolio of low-code business applications such as the Asset Insider. Together with the other members of the Consortium, Sappience will share its combination of business process innovations, deep industry knowledge, and advanced technologies. We aim to achieve the Democratization of Digital Twin across asset-intensive industries.
